Experience Oregon Caves National Monument

Deep inside the Siskiyou mountains lies the "Marble Halls of Oregon." The caves formed when acidic rainwater dissolved the surrounding marble, creating one of the few marble caves in the world. The Monument’s ancient forests contain endemic Port Orford Cedar and the largest Douglas Fir Trees in Oregon.

Please note: Cave tours will be closed April 20-22 & 27-29.

Hiking Trails

We have several hiking trails that weave in and out of the ancient forest on the Monument. You can see vast views, waterfalls, and largest Douglas fir tree known to exist in Oregon.  You also might see some of the native wildlife found in the forest such deer, bats, cougars, black bears, and the allusive relic species of mountain beavers, Aplodontia rufa.
